Indeed, Dale grow up watching television from the beginning of his era starting out in Knoxville Tennessee in (1974). Violence from cartons such as Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse and Road Runner distorted his perceptions at one point in his life. Anyhow, he looks back in time to recall some perceptions television has gaven him. Indeed, "I found the results of the passed disturbing when I recalled a Theory I tried as a young boy."

The Umbrella Theory was tested on TV shows, such as Bugs Bunny and many more, I am sure. Certainly, I was not the only little boy who tried to parachute off my Parent’s two story house with an umbrella. Indeed, that day was a complete failure. However, know matter how distorted this sounds, today I believe The Umbrella Theory is possible.

Certainly, I am crazy for even thinking I could jump off a one hundred foot bridge with a bigger umbrella. Since my cheap rain stopper folded up on me that day; I have not attempted the experiment again. Anyhow, I have thought of ways of making the Theory work. Getting the nerve up to do it again is not an easy task, the first time almost killed me.

Anyway, “who in their right mind would jump off a two story house with just an umbrella? Dale Jeffries". Indeed, children can and do process television dangerously. I hope this experience from my risky umbrella theory helps parents realize how TV really affects children. These crazy ideal’s are even sometimes in black in white. The real question is, “who is going to educate our children about distortion?” The best approach is for teachers and parents to watch television with their children or students and explain the distorted perceptions to them.
